Rattan is a climbing plant similar to bamboo, but unlike bamboo rattan has a more solid frame. Rattan products are not made with methods or materials that are harmful to the environment. The use of rattan keeps a tradition going that began many years ago before modern furniture where available in places like Africa. Making use of the resources in Ghana is something Rachelle and her team of artisans enjoy doing and have built Beiige around, it’s their way of appreciating the natural self taught skills of the people.
